Reaching for coffee cup leads to three-car accident in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — A Eunice Avenue resident said she looked down to reach for a cup of coffee before crashing and causing a three-car accident Friday morning.

Jill Keogh, 51, was issued an infraction for failure to maintain a proper lane after she hit one parked car twice, pushing it into another car.

When Keogh took her eyes off the road, she hit a car parked at the side of Rowland Road, pushing it onto a lawn. Attempting to maneuver around that car, Keogh ended up striking it again, and pushing it into a parked, occupied car in a driveway. Inside the third vehicle, a service employee was filling out paper work.

There were no injuries reported.
