Town officials plan to cut the ribbon for the reborn -- and rebuilt --Penfield Pavilion this evening (Thursday, Aug. 4).

A ceremony is planned at 6 p.m. in front of the waterfront complex at 323 Fairfield beach Road.

The event marks completion of the multi-phase construction project.

The latest phase of the work cost about $3.3 million, and included replacement of the pavilion's central structure and west wing, as well as construction of a new deck.

The building's east wing was rebuilt in 2008.
