The late-summer harvest of ripe native tomatoes is rolling in, and the Fairfield Woods Branch Library on Saturday will host a program celebrating the crop.

People are invited to bring the pride of their harvest to the event, and sample some of the many other varieties that will be on hand. Fresh mozzarella, basil and crusty bread will also be available to enhance the tasting.

The program is set for 1 to 3 p.m. at the library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.

Eric Frisk, master gardener and volunteer at the local Drew Community Garden, will teach participants how to save the seeds from this year's tomato harvest for next year.
