Sacred Heart University's "Music Faculty Recital Series" will feature Olivier Messiaen's 20th century masterpiece "Quartet for the End of Time" at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the school's Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts, 5151 Park Ave.

The quartet, a spiritually and musically complex piece, was inspired by the Book of Revelation, and was composed while Messiaen was held in a German prisoner-of-war camp during World War II, according to the university.

University instructor Justin Stanley, on clarinet, will be joined by Sarah Wetherbee on violin, Nicholas Finch on cello and Michael Bunchman on piano.

Stanley earned a doctor of musical arts degree in clarinet performance at the University of Michigan, a master of music degree at Yale University, and a bachelor of music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.

Tickets cost $10 for the general public, $5 for students.
