FAIRFIELD — The 2016-2017 school calendar kicks off with school starting next Thursday. School is set to wrap up on June 13, 2017.

The 182-day schedule has five snow days built in before school would be extended in June, Board of Education Chairman Philip Dwyer said. Eight additional snow days would add school days to the end of the year, cutting into spring break after that point.

For winter break, students will have no school Dec. 26 through Jan. 2, with early dismissal on Friday, Dec. 23. Spring break is scheduled for the second full week in April.

School is also off for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur on Monday, Oct. 3 and Wednesday, Oct. 12 respectively. School is not scheduled for Friday, Feb. 17 for a staff professional development day, extending the Presidents’ Day weekend.
