Fairfield Senior Center is sponsoring a three-day bus trip to the Washington, D.C., area Friday to Sunday, April 25 to 27.

The trip includes two nights lodging in Olde Towne Alexandria, Va., a sight-seeing tour of Washington landmarks, plus visits to the Smithsonian Institute and Arlington National Cemetery, the senior center said.

The cost per person is $389, based on double-occupancy lodging, and includes two full breakfasts, the center said in a news release. The trip is open to those 50 and over.

Lodging Friday and Saturday nights will be at the Holiday Inn and Suites in Old Towne Alexandria, the center said. The itinerary includes free time on Saturday night in Alexandria, which has shops and more than 90 restaurants.

The Washington-area tour will include a tour guide who knows the area attractions, according to the release. The bus will be equipped with heat, air conditioning, rest room and a DVD player. The trip will involve a moderate amount of walking, the center said, but a tram will provide transportation around the sprawling Arlington National Cemetery.

The tour is arranged through T&A Tours of Branford, which will provide a guide. Those who make reservations will receive a detailed itinerary and information about luggage, the center said.

For reservations or details, call T&A Tours at 203-483-6330, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reservations close Friday, April 4.
