Megan Sheahan and Graham Rowlands were married Oct. 20 at Woodlawn Manor in Sandy Spring, Md.

The bridegroom is the son of Will and Anne Rowlands of Fairfield. The bride is the daughter of Brad and Kim Sheahan of Huntingtown, Md.

Their wedding was officiated by Esmeralda Stuk, a college friend. Zack Winick, of Westport, Nick Boitnott and Chris Dunckle served as groomsmen. Chrissy and Kelly Sheahan, the bride's sisters, were bridesmaids, while the bride's friends, Ashleigh Kenny, Denali Kerr, Annie Donovan and Karla Pirner, were flower ladies. Ethan Riccio, the bride's cousin, performed the duties of ring bearer.

The wedding was a handcrafted affair, as the bride, bridegroom, family and friends all contributed in various ways to the festivities.

The couple met while attending Boston University.

The bride is a graduate of Calvert High School in Prince Frederick, Md., Boston University and Michigan State University in Lansing, Mich. She works as an independent consultant, doing research and policy analysis in international agricultural development.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Staples High School, Boston University and the University of California at Irvine. He recently accepted a post-doctoral position with the Applied Physics Department at Cornell University.

The couple resides in Ithaca, N.Y.
