Shelton man allegedly shoplifted groceries in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — A Shelton man allegedly left the Super Stop & Shop on Villa Avenue without paying for a shopping cart of groceries on Dec. 17.
Police said Anthony Macaluso shoplifted $177 of shrimp and energy drinks from the store Saturday morning. He was arrested after supermarket employees called police. He was charged with sixth-degree larceny.
The 49-year-old resident of Howe Avenue in Shelton was released on a promise to appear ahead of a Jan. 3 court date.
