Social services agency to host journalists
FSW, a 163-year old social services agency based in Bridgeport, will host guest speakers ABC's Good Morning America host Robin Roberts and ESPN's Outside The Lines host Bob Ley Friday, April 13, at its second annual "Behind The Scenes" event. It will take place 8 p.m. at Fairfield University's Reginia F. Quick Center for the arts, 1073 N. Benson Road, with doors opening 7 p.m. The Emmy Award-winners will participate in an interactive, audience-driven Q&A conversation, where they will share tales from their lives both in front of and behind the camera.

Under Roberts' leadership, Good Morning America has won three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning program. Her interview subjects include President Barack Obama, actor Sidney Poitier and basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on his battle with leukemia. Roberts, having battled breast cancer, has also travelled to the Middle East with former First Lady Laura Bush while she was on a mission to raise awareness about the disease in the Muslim world.
Ley, who joined ESPN on the network's third day of existence in early September 1979, is co-anchor of its Sunday morning block of sports/news programming and hosts its Outside the Lines series, which focuses on issues beyond the playing field.
The event will also include a silent auction that includes premier seats for Subway Series tickets in June, local restaurant certificates, a week on Nantucket, golf outings and many other items.
