Southbound lane closures expected on the Merritt Parkway this weekend

The state Department of Transportation has launched a surveying operation that could affect traffic on the southbound portions of the Merritt Parkway from Westport to Norwalk over the next three weeks.
Drivers can expect lane closures on Route 15 southbound between Exit 41 (Route 33, Wilton Road) and Exit 40A (Route 719, Main Avenue) ahead of the $6 million bridge and safety repairs set to be made from South Avenue (Route 124) in New Canaan to Main Avenue (Route 7) in Norwalk.
This project is scheduled to occur from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. this weekend, as well as the next two weekends.
Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather or other unforeseen conditions, said DOT officials.
The department reminds drivers to “maintain a safe speed” as traffic control personnel and signs guide drivers through the work zone.
