The Fairfield Ludlowe boys soccer team was interested in coming in and taking care of business in its game on Wednesday with winless Stamford. However, the scrappy Black Knights took care of the match themselves.
Stamford scored two goals off of free kicks by defender Kyle Murray as the Black Knights got their first win of the season with a 3-1 result over Ludlowe on Wednesday at Taft Field.
"It's a disappointing loss for us," Ludlowe head coach Kevin O'Hara said. "We made mistakes in the backfield and we watched them go to the ball and put it in the back of our net."
Mahmoud Kefel scored Ludlowe's lone goal as the Falcons fell to 2-4-3 on the year. Ludlowe will play Darien on Friday at Darien High School at 4 p.m.
