Children and adults who wake up Christmas morning in Fairfield homeless shelters will find that Santa left something for them, thanks in part to a Redding charity group.

The Redding Chapter of the National Charity League Inc. this month made Christmas stocking, then filled them with giftts for delivery to Operation Hope shelters in Fairfield, group organizers said.

The effort was part of Fairfield-based Operation Hope's "Hope for the Holidays" gift drive.

The Charity League is an organization of mothers and daughters, and the women and girls who put together the stockings are from Fairfield, Redding and Easton, the group said.
