Congregation Beth El in Fairfield raised more than $2,000 for Operation Hope, a homeless shelter in downtown Fairfield, during its 38th annual Sukkot Interfaith Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 4.
The guest speakers for the luncheon were sisters Lynne and Valerie Constantine, according to a release. They co-wrote "Circle Dance," a novel about a multigenerational family that overcomes betrayal and tragedy through strong family ties, tradition and faith. Its theme was the topic of their talk.
The sisters will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their book at the luncheon to the shelter.
Students from Fairfield Warde High School's Barlow Restaurant program volunteered as staff members for the luncheon.
