Suspect in CVS larceny spree charged with local incident

Mario Varriale, 40, of Branford, a suspect in larcenies at CVS stores around the state was arrested on a warrant Tuesday at Bridgeport Superior Court charging him with fourth-degree larceny at the new CVS store in Fairfield.
The charges were lodged in connection with several shoplifting incidents in September at the CVS on Grasmere Avenue. The most recent incident was Sept. 3, when he was seen on surveillance video taking toothbrushes, police said, and was recognized as being wanted in connection with shoplifting incidents at multiple CVS stores throughout the state.
He was in Bridgeport Superior Court on Tuesday and released on a $500 bond.
