Fairfield's Community Conversations Committee on Cultural Diversity will offer a discussion, "Let's Talk: As Diversity Grows, So Must We," on growing diversity in schools and communities, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in the media center at McKinley Elementary School, 60 Thompson St.

The presenter will be Nitza M. Diaz, a consultant for Connecticut Parent Information and Resource Center, according to a news release.

The two-tiered presentation will present a talk in English for English-speaking community members designed to explore creating a welcoming community for culturally and linguistically diverse families and build on current practices and programs. It is also intended to help educators, community leaders, legislators and students explore culturally relevant ways to address disparities and eliminate inequities, according to the release.

A talk in Spanish will strive to empower families to recognize and use the community resources available to them and how to build on existing programs. It will also aim to share culturally relevant ways that educators, students, community leaders, legislators and faith-based organizations can meet families' needs and how to create partnerships to meet these needs.
