Talk on movement, memory at senior center
The Fairfield Senior Center will host a free lecture titled "Creative Body, Creative Brain" on Monday, Jan. 7, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The lecture will include a discussion of how changes in the brain effect memory, plus some gentle movement exercises, the senior center said in a news release.
The lecture will be given by Cathy Paine, an integrative movement coach, former professional dancer and an expert in Feldenkrais, a type of movement exercise named after the Russian-born scientist who invented it.
The method's aim is to move with less effort, and proponents say it can help to relieve pain.
The lecture is free and open to anyone 50 or over.
