Teen charged with theft after car break-in at Lake Mohegan
An 18-year-old was arrested on a warrant Saturday and charged in connection with a car break-in and stealing possessions at Lake Mohegan last August.
Bryan Perez of Bird Street in Bridgeport was charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, conspiracy to commit second-degree criminal mischief, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.
A backpack, containing a leather wallet, was taken from the locked car Aug. 13, according to the report. The next day, a Bridgeport resident called police to report a group of teens outside her apartment who appeared to be going through a woman’s purse and throwing things into the garbage. Bridgeport police took three teens into custody, including Perez. Some of the items they had in their possession were taken in the car break-in at Lake Mohegan, according to the report.
Perez was picked up by Bridgeport police after a traffic stop and turned over to Fairfield on the warrant for his arrest.
Bond was set at $30,000 and Perez is scheduled to appear Oct. 26 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
