Teen charged with threats via Facebook
An 18-year-old who police said threatened two former neighbors via his Facebook page earlier this year now faces threatening and harassment charges.
Ciaran P. Butterly, of Old Mill Road, was arrested on a warrant Thursday and charged with two counts each of first-degree threatening and second-degree harassment, and held on a $35,000 bond.
According to police, Butterly sent more than 40 pages of messages to the two victims, allegedly telling them he was going to "kill them, shoot them and put a bullet into them after breaking into their homes."
Police said the messages apparently stemmed from a belief by Butterly that the two were "talking badly" about him.
Butterly is scheduled to appear May 13 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
