A 16-year-old Bridgeport teenager is facing charges after police said they found him carrying a gun after several items recently reported stolen from cars around 1 a.m. Thursday.

Police stopped the teen when he and another person were spotted riding a bike headed out of town, carrying a bag.

The teen had an unloaded Colt autosoft pistol in his waistband and a Coach bag that had two GPS units, an iPod, a Macbook laptop and a pair of sunglasses. The value of the items totaled $1,900.

He was issued a juvenile summons for carrying a pistol without a permit, carrying a dangerous weapon, fourth-degree larceny by posession and third-degree burglary and given a court date of March 23.
