The Running Doctor: Olympic safety
Published 12:00 am, Friday, February 9, 2018
We have a number of people from our area attending the upcoming 2018 winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang that will begin Feb. 9 and end Feb. 25.
There will be representation to the USA hockey team from our area. As the world turns today, one never should assume that everything is OK.
One should expect that there will be security agencies from many countries represented.
The following are security tips when travelling internationally:
• Stay alert
• Keep your eyes out for suspicious events, unattended bags, people acting strangely or who seem very nervous
• Cars that are left running unattended with no drivers, or parked in a no parking zone
• Do not carry large sums of cash, only what you will need for that day
• If you have a bad feeling, follow on your instincts, and report anything suspicious immediately to security and/or law enforcement
