A series of thefts from unlocked cars around town have been reported to police over the last week.

On Dec. 31, a Mill Hill Road resident reported that two unlocked cars were entered overnight and $500 worth of Christmas gifts taken.

Two cars, also unlocked, were entered overnight Jan. 1 on Sedan Terrace, police were told. Reportedly taken were a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, worth $250, and $50 worth of Christmas decorations. Another Sedan Terrace resident reported that he heard his car alarm sound around 3 a.m. that morning and hen heard a car drive off. In the morning, he said, he found the car’s door was open, but nothing missing.

A Valley Road resident reported Jan. 2 that an iPod touch, valued at $100, was taken from an unlocked car overnight.

And a Brookawn Parkway resident told police Monday that her unlocked car was entered Jan. 2. Reportedly taken were three winter hats, worth $15 each, a pair of sunglasses valued at $160, a $300 winter coat, a $200 jacket and snow boots valued at $150.
