Things to do in Fairfield this weekend
Halloween is almost upon us, so the weekend brings an array of activities in Fairfield from freaky to fun. Here are some suggestions we've scared up for you:
Strut your stuff on a "Spooky Stroll" Friday night when costumed guides will lead the brave of heart on a spectral saunter around historic Town Hall Green. Anything can happen during the walk, which starts at 6 p.m. at the Fairfield Museum and History Center, 370 Beach Road. Costumes are encouraged and be sure to bring a flashlight or glow stick. Little goblins will be enchanted with a visit to the Enchanted Castle at the Burr Homestead, 739 Old Post Road. The storybook-themed rooms in the historic mansion are open Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5. If you still haven't had your fill of Halloween, Phi Sigma Sigma and Delta Tau Delta are sponsoring a "Monster Mash" on Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sacred Heart University Commons, 5151 Park Ave. Cost is $12 per child and there will be crafts, games, prizes and snacks.
