Whether you're looking to spend time with the family or steal a few moments to yourself this holiday weekend in Fairfield, there's plenty to do:
With Easter, you get egg rolls. Bring hard-boiled eggs for dyeing and a wooden spoon to roll them on the front lawn at the Pequot Library, 720 Pequot Ave., at 10 a.m. Saturday. There will also be a chance to meet the Easter bunny. Call 203-259-0346 or visit www.pequotlibrary.org.
If you can't get to the Metropolitan Opera, the Met will come to Fairfield at 6 p.m. Saturday when Fairfield University's Quick Center, 1073 North Benson Road, hosts Massenet's "Manon," as part of the Met Live in HD series. Tickets are $25. Visit www.quickcenter.com or call 203-254-4010 for tickets and more information.
It may be April, but you can "Remember September" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Hopefest V, a concert fundraiser for Wheels of Hope. The local acoustic rock band will share the starge with Drew Lethbridge and the Kris Heaton Band. The fundraiser will be held at the Fairfield Theatre Co., 70 Sanford St. Suggested donation is $10. For information, call John Schod at 203-333-8300, ext.302.
Catch a set by singer-songerwriter Dylan Connor at 8 p.m. Saturday at Las Vetas Lounge, 27 Unquowa Road. Connor kicks off the celebration of his album's release with Mark Mollica on guitar. Call 203-255-1958.
Rise and shine Sunday, and take part in First Church Congregational's annual Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m. at Jennings Beach. Celebrants will gather on the shoreline near the corner of Beach and Fairfield Beach roads. For more information, call 203-259-8396.
