Traffic stop leads to Fairfield drug charges
A Bridgeport man was arrested on a series of drug charges Thursday night.
Omar Rivera, 30, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.
Rivera was pulled over about 8:30 p.m. as he drove east on Commerce Drive, police said. A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a plastic bag containing marijuana, a digital scale, as well as a box of plastic bags, items that police said indicated intent to sell.
Rivera was released on $5,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear Jan. 4 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
