Two Sacred Heart University students and a former SHU student face charges after a confrontation on campus early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the Park Avenue campus by a residence hall director who said Benjamin D. Proulx, 20, of Hampstead, N.H., was harassing him after he was ordered numerous times to leave. Proulx no longer attends Sacred Heart.

Jake R. Everett, 19, of West Windsor, N.J., and John Riley, 20, of Vernon, tried to intervene, police said, and allegedly pounding on the residence hall director's door and yelling obscenities.

Proulx was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, while Everett and Riley were charged with breach of peace. Bond for each was set at $1,000, and they are scheduled to appear March 28 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
