Truck, construction gear worth thousands reported stolen at SHU
Equipment and a pickup truck were reported stolen from a construction site at Sacred Heart University, 5401 Park Ave., sometime Friday night.
Police said two large sections of fencing were knocked down and the door handle pulled off a trailer belonging to Turner Construction. A set of truck keys is missing, along with the truck, a 2006 Dodge 2500, according to the report. The black pickup truck has "McCarthy Concrete" on the side and is valued at $25,000.
Bolted to the trucks bed were two boxes containing several thousands of dollars worth of tools, police said.
Also taken was a Rigid generator, belonging to another subcontractor on the job, valued at $4,500, as well as several Stihl demolition saws belonging to United Steel.
Damage to fence and trailer was estimated at $1,750, according to the report.
