Pequot Library will present two programs of music from the Early Classical Period and before this fall in the auditorium of the library, 720 Pequot Ave., Southport.

The performances, being held by a new Friends of Pequot Library as part of an annual music series, will include "Italy Bathed in Music: Vivaldi and his Friends" by the Sebastian Ensemble Sunday, Oct. 9, and "A Feast for the Senses" by vocal ensemble Tenet Sunday, Oct. 30. Both shows will take place 4 p.m.

During Sebastian Ensemble's performance, the audience will hear four concerti by Antonio Vivaldi and selections by Guiseppe Antonio Brescianello, Arcangelo Corelli and Francesco Durante. The group will play in historically-inspired styles on period instruments.

Tenet will perform selections chosen to appeal to the five senses. Selections for taste, for example, will include the traditional song "Drink to me only with thine eyes" and Henry Purcell's "If music be the food of love."

General admission is $30 per concert; Pequot Library Association members at the Advocate level or above will be offered a discount. For information, call the library at 203-259-0346, ext.12, or visit www.pequotlibrary.org.
