Two programs to help job-seekers boost their self-esteem and maintain a positive attitude are scheduled in February at the Fairfield Public Library.

Both workshops are part of the library's award-winning Jobs series and will take place in the Rotary Room of the main branch at 1080 Old Post Road.

"Believe in Yourself," a program on how to build and maintain self-esteem, will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. The presentation will be given by a career counsellor with the state Department of Labor.

A workshop on maintaining a positive mindset and reducing stress is planned for Thursday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. Dorothy Timmermann, a psychotherapist with Fairfield Counseling, will offer strategies for staying positive and for minimizing negative thoughts and procrastination.

The workshop will include a working model for developing an action plan for success.

Workshops in the library's Jobs series, now in its fifth year, are supplemented by a networking group, a LinkedIn networking group, one-on-one career counseling sessions, a Job Search Boot Camp, podcast recordings of more than 100 past presentations and a collection of job-hunting books

Since January 2012, 85 people who attended Jobs series programs have reported they have found employment.

Advance registration is required for both programs. To register for either or both, visit or call 203-256-3160.
