Volunteers sought to help with town's haz-waste collection

Volunteers are needed to help staff the annual household hazardous waste collection, scheduled for Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Veterans Park on Reef Road.
The town needs people to volunteer from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will not be handling any of the hazardous waste.
Residents will be able to dispose of household hazardous wastes such as aerosols, floor care products, furniture polish, disinfectants, antifreeze, oil-based paints, paint thinners or strippers, waste oil, chemical fertilizers, moth balls, gun clean solvents, all types of batteries, and gas grill size propane tanks.
Volunteers will not be handling any hazardous waste.
