Winter storm prompts Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles to cancel road skills tests

HARTFORD >> A looming winter storm has prompted the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles to cancel driving tests and the University of Connecticut to postpone some exams.

The DMV announced Friday there will be no road skills tests on Saturday.

The opening of UConn’s main campus in Storrs will be delayed until 10 a.m. Exams scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Saturday are now scheduled take place at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Up to 5 inches of snow is expected to fall on the state beginning Friday night and ending on Saturday.

The DMV is reminding drivers of both commercial and passenger vehicles that Connecticut law requires them to remove snow and ice from hoods, trunks and roofs.
