Stolen fingernail polish led to the arrest Saturday night of Alexandria Krikau, 23, of Holland Hill Road.
Security personnel at Super Stop & Shop, 1160 Kings Highway Cutoff, saw Krikau put some merchandise in her coat pocket while shopping, according to the report. She then went to a self-checkout and paid for two boxes of cereal and left.
She was detained by store personnel who said they found two bottles of nail polish, two makeup brushes and a pair of tights in her coat pocket, according to the report, which had not been paid for.
Krikau was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear March 20 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
