Woman busted for drugs after traffic stop
Johanna Marquess, 40, of Villa Avenue, faces a narcotics charge from Friday after she was observed not wearing a seatbelt and making a right on red from Pease Avenue onto the Post Road, police said.
Sgt. Suzanne Lussier, a Fairfield Police spokeswoman, said she was in possession of four Fentanyl transdermal patches, one of which she had on her right arm following the motor vehicle stop. When she was taken to police headquarters, she was observed ripping patches off her leg while in her cell, police said.
In addition to possession of narcotics, Marquess was charged with interfering with an officer (for providing a false name), failure to wear a seatbelt, no right turn on a red light, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Bond was set at $2,500 and she is scheduled to appear Nov. 28 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
