A woman from Pennsylvania was charged Thursday with a 2008 theft at Fairfield Center Jewelers.

Bianca Lamkin, 33, of Rosemont, Pa., went into the store at 1498 Post Road with another woman on Sept. 9, 2008, and asked to see a diamond ring. As a store employee went to the other side of the shop to get a jewelry light, one of the women maced the clerk, grabbed the $22,000 ring and fled the scene in a tan-colored SUV, police said.

Investigators gathered fingerprints at the scene that led to Lamkin, who was serving time in Pennsylvania for crimes committed in that state, police said. She was extradited to Connecticut to be charged Thursday with the Fairfield jewelry theft, police said.

The other woman was charged with the theft in May 2009.

Lamkin was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree assault.

Bond was set at $250,000 bond and she is scheduled to appear Feb. 7 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
