Jennifer Rose, 22, of Clarion Place, Trumbull, was charged with driving under the influence and additional violations after police said she struck a utility pole on Beach Road Sunday night.

When officers arrived at the scene, Rose, who had apparently tried to drive away but could not because of damage to her car, was on the sidewalk, according to the report. She had an odor of alcohol on her breath, police said, and staggered when she walked. She failed field sobriety tests, police said.

Rose was charged with driving under the influence, failure to drive right, driving under suspension and having no insurance. She was released on a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear Jan. 22 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
