Karen Hughes, 55, of Bullards Street, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive right after she allegedly hit a parked car on Crane Street around 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to police, Hughes' speech was slurred and the officer said there was a strong odor of alcohol. She apparently thought she was on Bullards Street, the report said, and she refused field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer test.

She was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Feb. 14 and taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport for treatment.
