Woman charged with Victoria's Secret shoplifting
Yuleika Ray, 30, of New York, N.Y., was charged with fifth-degree larceny and possession of a shoplifting device Friday after trying to steal $879 worth of merchandise from Victoria's Secret, 1499 Post Road, police said.
The store manager spotted Ray shortly after she entered carrying a thin bag and later saw it looking very full, police said. The manager then checked an area of the store where Ray had been and found merchandise drawers completely empty, police said. Ray left the store, walking east on the Post Road, and police dispatched to investigate the report were told by a witness that a woman had thrown a bag under a vehicle. Ray was apprehended about 100 yards farther up the street while talking on her cellphone.
She was described by Fairfield police as a "professional shoplifter" with a "long criminal history." Bond was set at $2,500
