Woman charged with assault after domestic dispute
A Lagana Lane woman was charged early Saturday with assault after police said she attacked a relative.
Robin Benak, 54, called 911 to say that, "Everything is not okay," around 2 a.m., according to the report, Officers arrived at the home and said that they learned that Benak scratched a family member's face during an argument about a company party they had attended earlier that day, police said. According to the report, Benak was intoxicated and uncooperative with police and yelling at other relatives. She had to be physically removed from the home, police said.
Benak was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with police. She was held on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to have appeared Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
