A 24-year-old Fairfield woman was arrested Sunday after she allegedly punched her boyfriend in the face and then repeatedly stabbed their mattress with a long kitchen knife while he was in their bedroom.

Adalys Sierra, of Tunxis Hill Road, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. She was released on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appeared the next day at Superior Court in Bridgeport.

Police said Sierra and her 24-year-old boyfriend live together in an apartment on Tunxis Hill Road. They were arguing over a television set that was reportedly stolen from the apartment last week by one of her boyfriend's friends who had been staying with them, police said.

Sierra, who told officers that her boyfriend pushed her before she struck him in the face, was arrested about 5:45 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The boyfriend declined medical attention, police said.
