Tiffaney Pannozzo, 19, of Norwalk, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia about 1 p.m. Thursday after allegedly stealing a $34 necklace from H Salon, 2060 Post Road.
Pannozzo walked into the store, asked if there was a job opening and was told there was not. She then tried on a few pieces of jewelry, according to police.
A store employee subsequently noticed a necklace was missing from a jewelry box. Pannozzo ran out of the store when she was confronted by a manager. She was stopped by police a short time later, across the street near a Mobil gas station.
In addition to a necklace, she also had in her possession a 3-inch glass pipe wrapped in tissue with burnt residue on it, according to Sgt. Suzanne Lussier, a police spokesman. Bond was set at $250 and she is scheduled to appear Oct. 21 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
