A large number of police officers was deployed Tuesday afternoon when a 39-year-old Bridgeport woman was discovered standing in the middle of Tunxis Hill Road, near the Andros Diner.

An officer on patrol around 1:45 p.m. came upon the woman, who he said was yelling and screaming, "ISIS is here!" an apparent reference to the Islamic group, as she clutched a Bible in the street.

Several other officers, and members of the department's Crisis Intervention Team, arrived at the scene and ushered the woman off the road.

She was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport for evaluation.
