Three women have been honored by the National MS Society's Connecticut chapter for their fundraising efforts.
Cheryl Jones, of Fairfield, Amy Lynn, of Monroe and Pam Lind, of New Canaan, were given the Georgina B. Davids award for raising $92,500 from 2009 through last year through their annual Cocktails and Croonin' For a Cause fundraiser. The event, at New Canaan's Waveny House, features Dean Martin covers sung by Jack Lynn and Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett standards by Angelo Ruggiero.
The funds went toward their Walk MS fundraising team, Mothers Against MS, and the chapter's annual Walk MS fundraiser.
The award is presented annually to a person or group of people making a difference in the lives of others battling multiple sclerosis, a potentially debilitating disease. The women received the award at the recent 2013 Fairfield County Women Against MS Luncheon.
Jones and Lind have both been diagnosed with the disease.
