Workshops set on financial literacy for children

Two workshops for parents about children’s financial literacy are planned this month by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

The workshops, led by chamber member Rocco & Associates, will be Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Pequot Library, 720 Pequot Ave., and Oct. 14 at 9:30 a.m. at the Fairfield Circle Inn, 417 Post Road.

The program, “Yes, You Can! Raise Financially Aware Kids,” focuses on how to teach children the value of a dollar and that things in general are not free, according to program publicity. It offers a step-by-step process to help children understand the importance of financial well-being, including savings, managing allowances, achieving financial goals and making donations.

The programs are free.
