Young Talent exhibit opens in Washington
WASHINGTON -- The exhibit, Young Talent, will be at the Washington Art Association, 4 Bryan Plaza, from Jan. 10 to 31. An opening reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sat, Jan. 10. Gallery hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tue through Sat.
Professional artists under 30 years of age were eligible with no geographic boundaries, and this year the committee was able to select inspiring and thought-provoking work from many nations including Israel, Pakistan, and Turkey, as well as the United States. The exhibit brings together young artists from around the globe and highlights their search for identity, culture and meaning in a variety of ways. Works exhibited include paintings, photographs and sculpture.

LITCHFIELD -- The Marie Louise Trichet Art Gallery at Wisdom House, 229 East Litchfield Road, will open a new exhibit, "Embracing Transformation: The Journey and the Cross" by Janet McKenzie, from 3 to 5 p.m., Sat, Jan. 10, from 3 to 5 p.m. The artist will give a talk on her work at 3:30 p.m., Sat, Jan. 10. This event is free. The exhibit runs through April 25, 2015.
The exhibit will consist of 15 oil on canvas paintings depicting The Way of the Cross and the Resurrection. The collection uses the images of Christ to interpret the process of transformation as going through the experience of death and coming out as "new."

RIDGEFIELD -- The exhibit, "Small Wonders of the World," featuring the works of Pascale Beneteau, Sarah French, Debbie Lord, Moogly, Florence Notte, and Martin Whittam, is on display at the Watershed Gallery, 23 Governor St., until Jan. 25.
