3-year-old boy shoots girl, 8; injury not life-threatening
CABOT, Vt. (AP) — A 3-year-old boy shot and wounded an 8-year-old girl in a home in Cabot, Vermont, state police said.
Police said the boy accidentally discharged the firearm at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, hitting the girl, who is from Barre, in the arm.
The girl's injuries are not life-threatening.
The girl was airlifted to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, where she is being treated. The incident remains under investigation, but police say that so far, the shooting has been determined to be an accident.
Police did not release the names of the children involved.
