HOWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a New Jersey police chief chased down a woman who threatened another driver with a knife. reports 51-year-old Diane Maloney, of Freehold, was charged Thursday with multiple charges including eluding and making terroristic threats.

Police say Maloney flashed a knife at a woman Thursday morning on Route 9 in Howell Township. Authorities say Maloney blocked the driver before police saw her and tried to pull her over.

Howell Police Chief Andrew Kudrick saw Maloney while he was in an unmarked police vehicle and gave chase. The woman crashed into an SUV and fled on foot. Kudrick was able to apprehend Maloney.

The suspect was treated for minor injuries and jailed.
