"New property values may mean lower tax bills"

I can't help but laugh and cry at this article which indicates my taxes may go down. Is there anyone out there that really thinks that has anything to do with taxes. The only thing that will lower taxes is less spending. It seems at all levels, federal, state and municipal governments, there has not been any attempt to reduce spending. When is the last time anyone in Congress took a cut in pay or reduced benefits. Everything just keeps getting sweeter at all levels.

Regardless of what my property is valued for, when the budgets are set, the mill rate is adjusted and the hammer comes down. Instead of a survey to find a name for Flatto's folly (the train station), let's have a survey on how to cut spending at all levels.
