Christian Abraham / Hearst Connecticut MediaBRIDGEPORT — One person is in custody in connection with an armed robbery of the Cumberland Farms store Friday night, police said.
The robbery happened shortly after 8 p.m. at the East Main Street store.
Along with one in custody, preliminary reports say two firearms were recovered.
The Cumberland Farms robbery follows a number of other armed robberies of businesses this week.
Investigators on Friday said two men — wanted for several armed robberies in the city earlier this month — allegedly committed two more Thursday night, according to police.
The men, wearing all black, robbed J.E. Liquor Store on Wayne Street at gunpoint around 7:50 p.m. Thursday, police said, and a second robbery, in the 3800 block of Main Street, happened a short time later.
These individuals might be connected with a recent burglary in Fairfield as well, city police said.
