STAMFORD — Police say they busted a street-level dealer they had under surveillance after they watched him stash some drugs behind the plastic siding of a townhouse on Ludlow Street.

Capt. Richard Conklin said officers from the Narcotics and Organized Crime squad were watching a South End corner when they spotted a man hide something behind some siding at 83-84 Ludlow St. at about 9 p.m. Tuesday. After the man walked away, the officers checked it out and found that the man left a bag of crack cocaine behind.

After the man got to Atlantic and Henry streets, the officers stopped him and put him under arrest. The bag of crack weighed about three grams, Conklin said.

Brandon Coney, 33, of Clinton Avenue, Bridgeport, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and held in lieu of a $5,000 court-appearance bond.

Conklin said Coney had numerous arrests in his background and had spent time in prison.

“This was a nice job by NOC doing a good proactive surveillance in that area,” Conklin said.
