Fairfield police warn residents of new phone scam

FAIRFIELD — Police on Wednesday warned residents of the latest phone scam.

“Residents reported having received phone calls from one of our officers, claiming they are the subject of arrest warrant,” police said.

“Please know that this is a scam and that the Fairfield Police Department does not notify individuals by phone of existing arrest warrants and we NEVER collect bond/bail payment over the phone.”

Police advised anyone who believes they received a scan call to contact the department at 203-254-4800 and select Option 9 to speak with the on duty desk officer.
