Police ID missing man, 83, found dead in Fairfield Prep parking lot
FAIRFIELD — The body of a missing 83-year-old man was found in the Fairfield Prep parking lot Thursday morning, according to police.
Lt. Anthony Granata said a construction worker at Fairfield University found the body in the adjacent Fairfield Prep parking lot.
First responders arrived and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, Granata said.
The man was identified as Fairfield resident Earl Ingram, Granata said.
Police received a call Thursday morning from a nearby resident who reported that an 83-year-old family member, suffering from dementia, was missing from his home. The resident reported the person was last seen going to bed at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Granata said.
Officers responded to the home and confirmed the missing family member was the man found at Fairfield Prep, Granata said.
The cause and manner of death remain under investigation, but Granata said foul play is not suspected.
In a prepared statement released Thursday, high school officials said the Fairfield Prep and Fairfield University community is offering its condolences and prayers for strength and comfort to the family, friends and loved ones of the man.
